Wednesday, March 17, 2004 I had such a great extended Birthday! thanks to my family and Sobhan. The cds I got from Bahman made my day on Sunday, besides my cake, of course! Richter is the absolute best performance of Rachmaninoff Concerto Piano no.2.. I had the tape, but listening to the cd is something else.. i can feel my soul flying all the way up. Last night, after the dinner, when we came home and listened to the concerto, I felt I am entering a different world! if there exists heaven, that must have been the heaven. And the dinner was amazingly good. We went to Bhima's Warung, an Indonesian-French restaurant in waterloo. The place is decorated very nicely. The walls are painted (green trees and bushes) to make the place look like a jungle. There were so many nice art crafts from indonesia and all these little pieces of decoration that make all the difference..bamboos, candles, wooden sculptures, photo frames, darhaaye hasiri, beautiful colours of tablecloth, dishes.. it makes you feel you're on a trip to Indonesia! except for the fact that the chefs are French! The food was amazing! the best dinner I've ever had. Not only the quality was good, but also the quantity was quite large. The dishes were so uniquely made and ornamented that we didn't even want to eat. Everything was artistic, from the decorations to the way the ornament the food on beautiful plates, to the background music, all perfect for you to capture every moment and engrave it in your memories.. wow, whoever reads this must think I am obsessed with food! not quite! it was just a great night.. oh, and i should say it was quite pricey, but definitly it's a place you must go to at least once! Today was charshanbe soori, but it was snowing here.. I was planning to go, until I fell asleep for 3 hours when i was hoping to get 10 minutes of rest, which is why I cannot sleep right now! too bad I missed it. I was thinking of charshanbe soori's in Kooye Nevisandegaan.. the smell of fire, feshfeshe and naarenjak comes back to me as I think of those days..
